Week 5
In week 5 of English Comp, the class read a haunted house based story which signified a deep meaning behind it. In the beginning, the scary details made it seem like it was an ordinary haunted story, but after a close examination, we realized that there was some relationship issues in the story. The story shared different emotions and connected horror to those different emotions in a subtle way, which I found impressive and quite interesting. I felt one of those emotions was mistrust, especially in relationships. We also worked on a timeline of our lives in class, marking the important parts of our lives which shaped us, it was kind of nice recalling past important experiences, but also brought back some trauma in me.
In Week 5 of Ethnographies class, we shared some things we did during Spring Break. Unenthusiastically, I just shared that I worked all week, which is kind of boring, but after a canceled trip to Thailand and then also to Maine, it was the last thing I can spend my time doing. We then watched a video of autoethnography, which was interesting nevertheless. We also worked on the map project assignment. In the project we were required to take pictures of the park and discuss 5 main things that make up the park, it was nice to pay a good visit to that park as it was a stamp in my early adolescent years when I would go to the skate park often. I had a lot of fun with the project and also presenting it as well.
