Final Blog
For English we worked on our essays, I am finished with my Research essay completely and I will be finishing my autobiography soon. My main argument for the research essay is why A.I is bad for society and I hope it will show people what I see from my point of view with this argument. For Ethnographic methods at work, we are working on our final blogs and checking our overall progress we have made up until now. After that we read “Decolonizing Ethnography: A Reimagined Framework for Teaching Radical Ethnography”, It proposes a radical ethnography approach that shifts the research focus from the ethnographer’s schema to the research subjects, aiming to…

In English class we talked about what kind of learning we prefer, I said I liked in person learning as I feel like I learn a lot better when something is taught in front of me and I can get a more hands on experience to learn the material, we also did check ins with Ms.Lipscomb and we went over our outlines for our research essays. In EthoGraphic Methods at Work, we spoke about debt and what we believed it means and as a class we spoke about how we feel about it and should we have a moral obligation to pay it back. We watched a video of an…

In Composition 2, we began working on our research essays. My topic for mine is whether or not A.I is good for society, or will it have a negative impact. We also had one on one’s with Ms.Lipscomb, in which she asked me what I’m doing for my auto biography and what my topic will be for my research essay. In Ethnographic methods at work, I read the passage called conducting interviews. In which it goes over the key principles for conducting interviews and provides researchers the opportunity to know how to engage in a interview and question the person being interviewed. The author Samuel Finesurrey helps train the reader…

Blog 7, April 27th,April29th
During our English Class on the 27th, we went over how symbols can represent an image that represents something more or beyond itself. Here is what I said. Something that I believe represents outside of itself is Crows.Crows aren’t just animals to some people, they are creatures of the otherworld, and are portents of Death. Crows have been depicted as symbols of death for a long time, dating way back to the 16th century. In my opinion I believe this suits them very well just as a Dove represents life and Purity, so in a way they kind of go hand in hand and are 2 different sides of the…

ENGL 202-Symbol Writing
Something that I believe represents outside of itself is Crows. Crows aren’t just animals to some people, they are creatures of the otherworld, and are portents of Death. Crows have been depicted as symbols of death for a long time, dating way back to the 16th century. In my opinion I believe this suits them very well just as a Dove represents life and Purity, so in a way they kind of go hand in hand and are 2 different sides of the same coin. But then again I believe that Crows don’t deserve to be outcasted like this as they are very intelligent creatures and are often underestimated by…

Bryant’s Park Photos
I wanted to take photo la of Bryant’s park as I enjoy coming to this park to relax or chill after school or in between breaks from classes. Ever since I’ve been coming to guttman cc, Bryant’s park has been one of the spots that makes me feel so zen and at ease. 1st Photo: This carousel is where all the kids go to with their parents to enjoy their time at the park on sunny days to have fun, I used to go on carousels alot when I was younger with my parents and in a way this hits home. 2nd Photo: For those that don’t know, this is…

ENGL 202, How to Survive a Plague
This documentary we finished for our English class was very interesting to say the least, it really shows the struggles gay people had to face during the aids epidemic as many people blamed them for it, causing many of them to be afraid to come out and hide who they truly were. The many deaths because of AIDS were not in vain as many people fought for medicine and vaccines for months/years and they weren’t going to stop until they got what they wanted and refused to be pushed away by the government whos job is to look out for its people.

Cultural object from my everyday life
I chose my headphones as I like the feeling of being tuned into myself and it helps keep me distracted from my environment. It is one of the many things I make sure I have and make sure I don’t leave behind where ever I go.

English 202 4/20
In todays class we watched a documentary called ‘How to survive a plague’. This documentary was talking about the AIDS epidemic and what people were going through during that time. From what I’ve seen from the documentary, Gay and Lesbian people were seen as the enemy and a lot of people were angry and violent towards them and most importantly, blamed them for the cause of the epidemic. It is honestly sad to see people blame these groups and basically treat them as outcasts because of their choices. The group known as Act Up has helped so many people with HIV, helping them prolong their lives when people still choose…

Ethnographics 4/15
In todays class we went over more about Autoethnography and what it really means, we also went over the terms culture and subculture. I feel many people including myself can see ourselves in different subcultures and in a way brings us all together as we find our shared likes and beliefs. While on the topic of cultural object, we went over different examples of it such as Museums, Jewelry, Gold, Weapons, and Books. All of these objects we use in our daily life and build connections around really define us to the people we are today as we share these interests with other people and from then on they’ll share…
