In todays class we went over more about Autoethnography and what it really means, we also went over the terms culture and subculture. I feel many people including myself can see ourselves in different subcultures and in a way brings us all together as we find our shared likes and beliefs.
While on the topic of cultural object, we went over different examples of it such as Museums, Jewelry, Gold, Weapons, and Books. All of these objects we use in our daily life and build connections around really define us to the people we are today as we share these interests with other people and from then on they’ll share that interest with more people. I chose my Laptop as my cultural object as it is something used by millions of people to work, play games, and do alot more. I use it for school and homework, so overall it is a tool that helps make my life easier and simple. I want to connect my object to the cultural idea that we as a society are moving onto a more technological era and we’re leaving the age of books and physically writing things in the past.
