In English class we talked about what kind of learning we prefer, I said I liked in person learning as I feel like I learn a lot better when something is taught in front of me and I can get a more hands on experience to learn the material, we also did check ins with Ms.Lipscomb and we went over our outlines for our research essays.
In EthoGraphic Methods at Work, we spoke about debt and what we believed it means and as a class we spoke about how we feel about it and should we have a moral obligation to pay it back. We watched a video of an interview with David Graeber, in this interview he talks about his book and why he wrote it. He talks about why debt holds alot of power, defining debt as a promise that has been made impersonal and transferable through a combination of mathematics and violence. Afterwards we watched a video about the myth of barter and why it hurts us, it’s because the myth pushes a individualistic view in which reframes society from being naturally transaction based.
On Wednesday English class was canceled and for EthnoGraphic methods at work, we went to bryants park to have class and we did some discussing as a small group, and overall it was a good experience to be outside and enjoy the sun.
