This week on Monday we visited the Herbert Von King Park where I could observe a quiet landscape with the green and tall trees and the hot sun, hear the laughter of the children in coexistence and a tranquility while walking, we were asked to create a poem with what we observed. Nature A beautiful landscape A beautiful path to walk The big green trees transmitting happiness The green and shining grass The children playing, laughing and running A squirrel singing about his happiness A stone A branch A drop of water Everything, nature loves A song for this tree that has been providing protection for years The happy squirrel…

    Week 11

During the trip to Herbert King Park, I noticed many things. The nature was very vibrant, green and overall very beautiful, the whole place was surrounded by trees and plants. There were a variety of people there of all age ranges, such as the elderly, teenagers, adults, families, people walking their dogs, people lying in the grass and getting a tan. at a certain part of the park there was a small performing stage, in a different part of the park there was a nature reserve, and a rec center with different activities such as sports, dance, swimming and so on. Poem:The grass gleams, like flowers in the spring life…

My poem Herbert Von King Park I walked slowunder green light, where sunlight brokethrough treesand rested on the path. Birds moved through the air, footsteps passed behind me,voices driftedthen disappearedinto the wind. I sat stilllong enoughto hear the park breathing. A bench,a shadow, cool grass, rough barkbeneath my hand. A bottle cap glintedbeside a loose stick, small thingsleft behindbut still part of the scene. The more I looked, the more I noticed. The more I noticed, the more I feltconnected.

For the first part of this week in English Composition II, the class focused on the topics of critique, argument, and rebuttal. On Monday, we read the work titled “A Moral Education” by Garth Greenwell. We also discussed how to create arguments for an opinion piece and how to address counterarguments. This was helpful because when writing a research essay, it is important not only to state the facts. It also matters to show the understanding of another party’s stance and prove one’s position. Also, during Monday’s classes, we had an opportunity to revise our assignments on the Experimenting Autobiography project. This task required an approach towards essay writing which…

For this week in English Composition II class, we continued working on the research essay. In particular, we looked at the mechanics of a research essay during Monday’s lesson, followed by individual work time which gave me a chance to review and reflect on my topic more in depth. Given that my research will deal with the practice of anesthesia, it is very important that I do in-depth research on this medical specialty. Additionally, in class we discussed the journal genre in general and read excerpts from “Parable of the Sower” by Octavia Butler. Also, in class we discussed our progress on the research essay. The Ethnographic Methods at Work…

This week, I learned a little bit more about symbolism and hidden meanings in writing in English Composition II. For example, we were dealing with library databases and learning how to find sources that can provide us with relevant information to defend our arguments. We also completed an in-class symbol exercise where we were supposed to think about the symbolism of simple items. The dove seemed to be the most interesting option for me since it usually means peace. I started searching for sources that could prove this idea. Also, we spent a significant amount of time talking about the structure of our research essay including such aspects as scaffolding,…
