Weekly Reflection / Blog #1

I learned a lot this past week just by engaging in class conversations. One discussion that stood out to me the most was Professor Dunne’s take on grades. I really learned a lot from having this discussion in class with the professor. She explained that most classes work from teacher to student, and as long as the student does what is told, then the student does well in the class. However, professor Dunne said she liked doing things differently. Doing well in class means sharing ideas collaboratively and expanding ones knowledge without the mere pressure of grades and perfection. Just being present and expanding from others ideas. I personally like that class because it feels like for me I can involve myself more into learning and less into memorization and chasing perfect scores.
