one thing that I took away from my ethnographic class this week is that people with a high S.E.S status have more opportunities especially in the education systems. For example while the regular working class is being taught how to stay a working class and work under someone, people with higher incomes often have a hidden curriculum that they are taught in school such as learning how to become the next CEO. This is just one of the ways the rich stay rich while the working class are being told to go to college so they can have high income jobs after they graduate, only to come to the realization that college left them in debt, and the degree they earned still isn’t enough to qualify them for high income jobs.
